Today, I made homemade ramen. It was delicious! If you want
to make this, I am going to teach you how I made the ramen. But, if you haven’t
read my last blog about how I got the ingredients for the ramen, then you
should probably read it before this one.
First, you should boil water in a pot. Then, you should put
your dried kelp in the water and let it sit in the water for 15-20 minutes.
While the dried kelp is sitting in the water, you should put eggs in a
different pot of boiling water and let the eggs simmer in the pot for 6
minutes. After 6 minutes, you peel the shells off the eggs, and cut the eggs in half. Then, you're done making the eggs.

After 15-20 minutes you remove the dried kelp from the water
and keep the water. After you’re done with that, you put bonito flakes in a
strainer. Then you leave the strainer with the bonito flakes in the water for
15 minutes. After 15 minutes, you get a
rubber spatula and squeeze the water out of the bonito flakes to get more
flavor out of them. After this, you
throw out the bonito flakes and again- keep the water adding miso to the
strainer with the strainer halfway in the water. Stir the miso around in the strainer with a
rubber spatula until the miso dissolves.
Do this again 2-3 more times to get the most flavor. That makes the
broth.

After I did the last step 3-4 times, I am now tasting the broth

Get another pot and boil the noodles in the hot water. After doing this, keep the hot water in case
people want more noodles (but you don’t have to). At this point, you are done with boiling the
noodles.
When you’re done boiling the noodles get a cup of soy sauce,
half a cup of mirin (sweet cooking wine), half a cup of sake (rice wine), and
garlic. Mix up all the ingredients and take your 2 pounds of pork belly, roll
it up, and tie it with string. Then, pour the marinade over it in a new pot and
put a lid on it on the stove. Turn up the stove so it is cooking, and turn the
pork periodically for 3 hours (I would suggest doing this step before you do anything else). Once you’re done with that, cut up the pork and
put it on the stove in a pan until the pork is fully cooked.

After that, you can get all the fix-ins which are: green onion, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts,
fish cake (cut up), and the soft-boiled eggs you made earlier. You put everything
together which are the broth, the noodles, the pork, and all the fix-ins. That
makes the ramen!

I hope you enjoyed my blog about how I made the ramen. I hope
you make it too. Thanks for listening!
This is the finished product. Enjoy!
